The University of Nevada, Reno’s (UNR) Mathewson Gateway project in the US has reached a construction milestone, marked by a topping-off ceremony.  

Representatives from the university, Clark Construction, and project developer Edgemoor Infrastructure & Real Estate attended the ceremony. 

More than 40,000 work hours are said to have been invested in the project to date.聽

The added five-storey, 128,000ft虏 academic building is set to become the new home of the university’s College of Business.聽聽

Post-completion, it will feature a range of facilities designed to support modern business education.聽

The campus will include a landscaped courtyard, outdoor plazas, and student and community outreach programmes aimed at fostering entrepreneurship, innovation, and spontaneous learning.聽

Construction of this project began in October 2023. 

Since the ground-breaking, the project team has placed 3,800 cubic yards of concrete for foundations and 1,300 cubic yards of concrete for vertical cores.聽

The team has also erected 900 tonnes聽of structural steel and installed 130,000ft虏聽of metal decking.聽

The UNR Mathewson Gateway District is located adjacent to Interstate 80 and downtown Reno. 

The project team reportedly prioritised incorporating local representation to kickstart economic growth.聽

Specifically, more than 70% of the project’s value has been contracted to Northern Nevada-based trade partners, with聽a total of 23 Northern Nevada subcontractors involved in the project.聽

Completion and delivery of the UNR Mathewson Gateway project is anticipated in July 2025.
